Born during the renaissance period of the style, The music style of Tyranny has always been Funeral Doom and will remain so to the very end, rooted deep in the uncompromising Finnish tradition where each note should be played with the weight if it was your last with the foreboding sense of finality.
Since the start, the core members have always been MM and LL on all recordings, with helping hand in the current live lineup from JPM and TK. New album has been in the works since 2020 and is nearing its eventual completion. We have worked in the past with labels including Dark Descent Records, Firebox and Bloodmusic.
Members are known for their activities throughout the past 25 (or more) years in such bands as Wormphlegm, Corpsessed, Profetus, Pestilent Hex, Ymir, Tormentor Tyrant and others spanning multiple fringes of extreme forms of music ranging from Funeral Doom, Death Metal and Black Metal.
Live appearances of Tyranny are rare and carefully selected with events like Roadburn, Roskilde, Tones of Decay, Church of Crow, Haunting the Castle and returning to Kill-Town Deathfest since the last appearance in 2012!
