Formed in 2006, Father Befouled conjure an unholy, desolate strain of death metal. After early
demo tracks began circulating online and building momentum, the band released their debut EP
Profano ad Regnum in 2008 and started performing regional shows across the U.S.
Their first full-length, Obscurus Nex Cultus, followed soon after. A series of shows and split
releases led to a deal with Relapse Records, who issued Morbid Destitution of Covenant in
2010—an album that earned a place on Decibel Magazine’s Top 40 Albums of 2010.
After laying low for a short period, Father Befouled returned for the inaugural Martyrdoom
Festival in New York in 2012, coinciding with their third full-length, Revulsion of Seraphic Grace,
Released through Dark Descent Records.
In 2015, the band issued Enthroning Desolation, a compilation of demos, splits, live recordings,
In addition, rarities, followed by a brief East Coast tour. They later headlined the Blood of the Wolf Festival in 2017 and performed at Maryland Deathfest in support of their fourth album, Desolate Gods.
May 2019 marked their first European tour, accompanied by the release of the EP Holy Rotten
Blood and culminating in a performance at Netherlands Deathfest.
Their fifth full-length, Crowned in Veneficum, arrived in 2022—a nine-track ode to poisonous,
blasphemous death metal. European tours followed in 2022 and 2024 with Snet and
Fossilization, respectively, alongside the release of the EP Immaculate Pain. The 2022 tour
closed with a set at Kill-Town Death Fest.
In 2025, the band appeared at both Maryland Deathfest and Metal Threat. Their 2026 return to Kill-Town will be a special one-off European appearance celebrating 20 years of Father Befouled, featuring a curated set spanning every era of the band—a performance not to be missed.
