Formed in 2019 by Tibor Hanyi (Cryptworm, Coffinborn, Tyrant Goatgaldrakona) and Lambert Lédeczy (Coffinborn, Tyrant Goatgaldrakona, Mörbid Carnage, Ahriman, Fagyhamu, Militia, Gravecrusher), Rothadás became one of the most crushing death doom bands of the Hungarian underground scene.
All their lyrics are in Hungarian and the band name translates to Putrefaction. They gained recognition after signing to Me Saco Un Ojo and Pulverised Records shortly after their formation back in 2019. After a demo released in 2019 and a full length entitled “Kopár hant… az alvilág felé” released in 2021, Rothadás is back with their highly anticipated second record “Töviskert… a kísértés örök érzete… lidércharang” released in 21st March 2025.
Immediately tendrils of decrepit and morbid death metal will pull you into the abyssal atmospherics the band so vibrantly conjure from the depths. Sepulchral guitars and reverberate drums contort into a monstrosity of festering evil while the macabre vocals permeate and resonate through the crushing mix. Everything constantly moving, shifting, into darker realms; you will be constantly thrown into new realms of horror with each passing moment. From their blasting cacophonies of rotten splendour to the eldritch doom that fills the air with anguish, each second has purpose in painting a picture of terror and charnel mystery in this superb follow-up to their debut album.
Operating strictly as a studio project only until 2025 Rothadás became a live band with a help of session musicians. Their first live performance ever is going to be at Kill-Town Death Fest in 2026.
