SWEDEN· Darkness Shall Rise
Murder Squad was formed in 1994 by members of the Swedish death metal bands Dismember and Entombed, Matti Kärki and Richard Cabeza (Dismember) and Uffe Cederlund and Peter Stjärnvind (Entombed). Sole purpose was to play death metal as they love it… raw , filthy, deranged and uncompromising . Heavy influenced by Autopsy with a touch of the classic Stockholm death metal sound the members have been part of and established.
In the year 2000 the first album “Unsane, Insane and Mentally Deranged ” was released and in 2003 saw the release of the bands sophomore album “Ravenous Murderous ” which had Chris Reifert (Autopsy) joining the band writing, playing and recording with the band in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2012 a 7″ was released with two Autopsy covers, recorded during the Ravenous Murderous sessions. In 2025 the reunited again to hold the banner of Death Metal high and perform live shows again and work on new music.
Now, in the fall of 2026 the two full length albums will be re-released through Darkness Shall Rise Production.
